Salon Etiquette - Hollywood Wax - Southport
All treatments are by appointment only and for insurance purposes we cannot accommodate more than two clients at a time, so unfortunately you won’t be able to bring your friends or children with you. Appointments can be made by telephone or email but will not be considered confirmed until we have contacted you. Should we be unable to answer your call because we are with clients or you are calling out of hours please leave your name and telephone number and we will call you back as soon as possible.
Please arrive for your appointment freshly showered and if possible have a gentle exfoliation a few days before to prepare the skin by removing any dead skin cells and priming the hair; if you are coming straight from work, don’t worry as you will be given the opportunity to use freshen up wipes prior to your waxing treatment.
Nowadays men and women from all professions and ages get waxed, the reasons are really personal but there is nothing more liberating than being hair free, it enhances intimate pleasure as it heightens sensitivity and feels and looks amazing. Waxing enhances muscle definition, eliminates stubble growth - plus why shave every day when you can be hair free for weeks.
IS THERE ANY REASON WHY I COULDN’T GET WAXED?
Yes, if you have been using Roaccutane you must wait 6 months since you finished your medication before getting waxed.
Yes, if you have a contagious skin condition please wait until it has completely cleared up.
We cannot remove hair from areas that have been treated with steroid cream Retina-A, Differing, Glycolic Acid or other acne products in the last 3 months.
You should always disclose prior to the day of your waxing appointment any medical conditions, medication, creams or allergies you have. All information is strictly confidential.
HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE?
A minimum of 3 to 4 weeks of hair growth or 1/2 cm hair length is needed to get the best results regardless how you have been removing your hair previously.
HOW LONG WILL A WAXING LAST?
The typical result lasts from three to four weeks. One of the best things about waxing is that your hair will grow slower, sparser and finer, but please remember that it can take up to 4 waxing treatments spaced evenly apart to get the hair onto the same growth cycle that will get you the best results.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?
For best results we recommend visiting us every 4 to 5 weeks, but the choice is of course yours as to how smooth and hair free you want to be.
DOES IT HURT?
Yes, a little, but not as much as you would expect and only for a couple of seconds as our technique is quick, most people are surprised how easy it is and the discomfort reduces further with regular waxing; if you have never been waxed before or in a long time, you can help by trimming your hair to approximately half an inch as the longer the hair is, the more it will hurt. Shaved hair is much stronger and tougher to remove, so please stop shaving. Also, if you are a first time client we may not recommend a full body wax but to start with a small area first and then move on to adding more. Waxing is much quicker and comfortable if it’s maintained on a regular basis.
I’M STILL A BIT NERVOUS
You are in good hands with us! We are experienced and highly trained; we have been waxing clients for years and we love our jobs! We only use new generation waxes and the best professional products on the market.
CAN I GET WAXED IF I'M PREGNANT?
All waxing including intimate waxing is normal and not harmful throughout your pregnancy up to due date.
CAN I BE WAXED IF I’M MENSTRUATING?
Yes, you can, you may be a little more sensitive during menstruation.
Please note if you are having intimate waxing you will need to remove your clothing from the waist down in order to get the perfect wax. We use only hot wax also known as non-strip wax for these areas, the wax is applied with a wooden spatula on the skin in a thick layer and as it sets it "shrink wraps" the hair - this method is much more comfortable than using strip wax.
We probably have clients booked before and after your appointment, so it is important that you arrive on time. Should you be running late for your appointment please call to let know. To maintain a high quality service for all our clients it is important to respect appointment times.
We appreciate that at times clients need to reschedule or cancel appointments as unexpected events can happen in everyday life - we may not charge for a cancellation however we do ask that you inform us by telephone a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment as we might be able to offer your scheduled time to another client.
